Biography:

Schuler has an extensive background in chargemaster, billing, operations, ICD-10-CM/PCS, DRG coding and hospital CPT-4 coding, and has more than 35 years of health care industry experience and expertise in all areas of health information, medical records, utilization review, patient access and business services. Additionally, she’s an expert in third-party reimbursement, electronic submission of claims, billing and collections, and revenue cycle solutions.

As a health care consultant, her areas of expertise include ICD-10-CM/PCS, DRG coding, hospital CPT coding, APC education/validations, charge capture and chargemaster reviews. She has developed and conducted coding and reimbursement seminars, and has been a featured speaker nationwide on the topic of Medicare ambulatory payment classification groups and their impact on hospital operations. She is an active member of the American Health Information Management Association and the American Academy of Professional Coders and is a nationally featured speaker for the American Academy of Professional Coders, American Health Information Management Association, Vizient and Optum/Optum360.
